Sightseeing in Majorca

The capital, Palma de Mallorca, crowded with tourists restaurants, bars, discos and souvenir shops, is a city of amazing cultural and architectural heritage, with magnificent Gothic churches, baroque palaces and a fascinating old town, full of splendid houses. The most spectacular monument of the city is its cathedral, La Seu, a huge golden stone Gothic structure that rises almost to the sea with fine interiors remodelled in the early twentieth century by the great Antoni Gaudí.

Renting a car for touring and do sightseeing around the island of Majorca can be a wonderful solution to see the beauty of this island and visit all the possible places during your vacation. Just 15 or 20 minutes from Cala D'Or we find the idyllic and beautiful fishing town of Figuera, one of the most beautiful places you can find on the island, a place we recommend to visit. From here, you can visit with your rental car Cala Figuera, taking the road to the White Alquería and then go to Santanyi and continue signals. During the summer, when temperatures climb, the better you can do is parking the car and go walking from outside to inside the village. Have a walk and visit the old town of Cologne de San Jordi, and relax in the cafe terraces and restaurants. Colonia de San Jordi, Santanyi, El Puerto, the Monastery of San Salvador, Porto Colom, are also places that are worth a visit, as well as Porto Cristo, one of the most beautiful ports in the island. On the other hand, if you want to go further and explore more of the island, you can go places as Puerto Pollensa and Formentor, places which are very sites for children.
